Red meat, processed meat and cancer

healthy PIG
Did you know that eating more than 700g of red meat per week increases the risk of bowel cancer? Or that for every 50 grams of processed meat eaten per day, the risk of bowel cancer increases by 1.18 times?
The World Health Organization has classified processed meats such as ham, bacon, and sausage as Group 1 carcinogens, which means there is strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. Eating processed meat increases the risk of bowel and stomach cancer. Red meat, such as beef, lamb and pork, has been classified as a Class 2A carcinogen, meaning it may cause cancer.
