More foreigners request euthanasia in Belgium
About 150 foreigners have undergone euthanasia in Belgium over the past six years. Most of the patients are from France and are over 50 years old. Most of them have progressive neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or are in the final stages of cancer.
