use
wood
In Southeast Asia, Melaleuca is used as fuel and to make charcoal. It is used on a small scale in house construction to support columns, frames and floors, as well as for fences. The bark has been used as roofing material and as a sealant in ship construction, including as caulking material for ships in Indonesia.
essential oils
Australian Aboriginals used the leaves of this species to treat pain and inhaled the vapor from crushed leaves to treat respiratory infections. In Thailand, the leaves are used to make herbal tea to treat a range of medical problems. In many parts of Asia, oil of the jade tree, for which the tree is named, is used as a liniment and inhalant.
