Sulfonamide is a sulfonamide antibiotic used in the poultry industry as an antibacterial and anticoccidial agent used in poultry feed. Sulfanitran is also a multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2) stimulator, increasing the affinity of MRP2 for estradiol-17-β-D-glucuronide (E217βG).
It is a component of Novastat, Polystat and Unistat, brands of feed additives used to control Coccidioides in chickens

- The combined use of acarbose and sulfonate can improve the therapeutic effect.
- The combined use of acetamide and sulfonate can improve the therapeutic effect.
- The combined use of albiglutide and sulfonate can improve the therapeutic effect.
- The combined use of alogliptin and sulfonate may increase the therapeutic effect.
- Benzylpenicillin Sulfonatebenzene may decrease the excretion rate of Benzylpenicillin which could result in a higher serum level.
