Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Codewon S Syrup in treating acute bronchitis. Using a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicenter trial design, 204 acute bronchitis patients were divided into three groups: Cod-S (Codaewon S group), Dih-C (Dihydrocodeine group), and Pel-S (Pelargonium group). The primary endpoint was the change in total bronchitis severity score (BSS) from baseline to day 4 of treatment. Results showed that the BSS change in the Cod-S group was significantly higher than in the other two groups. The Cod-S group also demonstrated higher response rates, improvement rates, and patient satisfaction, with no significant adverse events observed.
Codewon S Syrup was more effective in improving acute bronchitis symptoms than dihydrocodeine or pelargonium.
