use
Tricalcium silicate is used as the main hydraulic compound in Portland cement and as an anti-caking agent in foods. It is called "alite" in clinker because it is not pure tricalcium silicate and contains many substituted impurities in its crystal lattice.

Safety
Tricalcium silicate is used as an anti-caking agent with a tolerance of 2% and is generally considered safe for use in table salt in accordance with good manufacturing practices.
