Material:
- 500g BBQ pork (pork shoulder or pork loin can be used)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or rice wine
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon allspice
- Pinch of salt and pepper (add to taste)
step:
-
Marinate barbecued pork: Combine soy sauce, light soy sauce, honey, Shaoxing wine, sugar, chopped garlic, allspice, salt and pepper in a container to make a marinade. Add the barbecued pork to the marinade, making sure all parts are evenly coated with the sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator, preferably for 4 hours or overnight, to allow the meat to fully absorb the seasoning.
-
Preheat the oven: Take the marinated barbecued pork out to room temperature and warm it up. Preheat the oven to 200°C (about 400°F).
-
Grilled barbecued pork: Place the marinated barbecued pork on the baking sheet, skin side up. Spread remaining marinade evenly over surface of meat. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the meat is golden brown and cooked through.
-
Shaping and slicing: Take out the roasted barbecued pork and let it cool slightly. Use a sharp knife to cut the barbecued pork into thin slices or long strips, adjusting the size to your preference.
-
Serving: Arrange the sliced honey-glazed barbecued pork on a plate. You can serve it with vegetables or rice as a side dish. Sprinkle some chopped green onion or white sesame seeds to add color and flavor.
-
Enjoy: Honey-glazed BBQ Pork can be served as a main course or side dish to enjoy with family or friends.
