Mauritia flexuosa / Moriche Palm / ité palm, ita, buriti, muriti, miriti (Brazil), canangucho (Colombia), morete or acho (Ecuador), or aguaje (Peru) ) is a species of tree in the palm family from the Amazon. Grows in and near swamps and other moist areas in tropical South America. They have an autotrophic growth form.
