Raw materials
-
2 tablespoons fresh ginger
-
2 tablespoons fresh turmeric
-
1 lemon
-
1 orange
-
3-5 cinnamon sticks
-
1 tablespoon black pepper
-
1 head of garlic
-
32 oz apple cider vinegar
-
Honey or coconut nectar, to taste (optional)
- Peel and slice the ginger and turmeric. Lemon and orange slices. Mash and peel the garlic.
- Add all ingredients to a large pitcher or bowl. Pour over the apple cider vinegar. Cover the pitcher or bowl (do not use a metal lid as it will corrode with vinegar).
- Put the container in a dry, dark place and let it ferment for 2-4 weeks.
- After the fermentation process is complete, strain the liquid and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can add a little honey or other unrefined sweetener to the mixture before serving. Give it a try, dilute it with water or juice, or pour it over food.
- Tip: It is important to clean the cider container thoroughly before use to avoid the growth of harmful bacteria during the fermentation process.
